Football Season Ends

Today the football season ended for Ballykeigle pupils with a return match against local neighbours Ballycloughan Primary.

After losing heavily at Ballykeigle the first team acquitted themselves well after going down 2-0 early on. They levelled the game at 2-2 after a fine finish from joint player of the year, Andrew Moore. Ballycloughan’s strength showed though as two great finishes seen them run out 4-2 winners. The second team battled hard but were outshone with some excellent football from the home side. However, star of the show was P3 pupil Ivan Tate who despite his lack of stature more than made up for it with skill and effort!

Thanks to all of the pupils and staff at Ballycloughan for their hospitality and a great morning.

Mini World Cup

On Saturday 12th June two teams from Ballykeigle represented the school at the Mini World Cup tournament in Ballygowan.

Both teams did brilliantly with the 2nd team winning their final game 3-1 against Carrickmannon. The 1st team managed to reach the semi finals but tiredness told and they eventually lost the 3rd/4th place play-off 2-1.

A great day was had by all and the coaches would like to thank all parents who supported the event by sending their children and supporting them on the day.

Zoo Trip

Ballykeigle pupils from year 1 to 4 visit Belfast ZooBallykeigle Primary School decided to make the most of the warm sunny weather recently and booked a trip to the zoo for the years one to four pupils. The good weather also brought all the animals out for all to see. As well as the doing the usual walk around the zoo, the children took time out to enjoy their first picnic lunch of the year. A great time was had – and by all reports all slept very soundly that night!
