Ballykeigle Primary School

Thursday 12th June sees the annual sports night take place at Ballykeigle Primary.

As usual there will be events for all children,  as well as the pre-school race, mothers and fathers race not to mention a range of stalls selling toys, books, cakes and the well-loved BBQ.

The evening will get off to a colourful start this year as around 200 balloons will be released. In what should be a spectacular sight, a prize will be given to the balloon which travels the greatest distance.

Last week the PTA held a games evening for parents children at the school.

A great turn out seen the assembly hall full and with plenty of crisps, sweeties and juice on the go there were a lot of smiling faces but enough about the parents.

The evening kicked off with a fiercely competed game of bingo, hosted by Nikki McKeag. Prizes were given out for anyone managing to complete a line on their cards and finally for the first person to cross out every number.

After bingo and quick refreshments Jill McClements hosted a round of quiz questions for all ages. As the scores were gathered in it was clear a group of anonymous adults in the corner of the room were clearly taking this seriously!

The final two rounds of the evening were hosted by Darren Taylor with guess the picture and tv theme tunes. Despite a few technical hitches this concluded the games night as the children took off to the playground enjoying the early summer weather.
